Hi 01/04/2012
I´m a horrible but optimistic blogger. Time Flew by the past week. I do not know what happened! So today, I´m actually just dropping by to say Hi. Nothing more important than just that. Hi. 3 Comments dreams for the new year 12/30/2011
It´s the day before New years eve. I was hanging up my calender for 2012 and the quote for January was this one. It pretty much sums it up what I feel for this new year. So I want to wish you a Year, where you keep your dreams close in your heart, and that You will find the strength and courage to pursue them! Happy New Year to You! new times 12/28/2011
2011 has come to it´s end. I don´t really like new years resolutions. Because they are rarely kept. But I guess I´ll try. I have made this list for the year, but I´ll make one new for each month too, as it seems more doable that way :) I did not include the usual "quitting bad habits" and "exercise more". Because those are the one´s that keep coming back Every year, and I thought, I´ll just try anyways, without them being on the list! ( well, I´m a bit odd ) Here is my list. What is your´s? And what an announcement! Jesus Christ, our Savior is born! So, In the midst of santas , cookies, dinner, presents...Lets focus on that God is the one who gave us Christmas! _And with that! A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS to You And Yours !!! cookies for santa 12/22/2011
Today was such a good day! My sister and me baked gingerbread cookies and sugar cookies, we listened to Christmas music, and all of a sudden, it started to snow!! How perfect is that.? Later on, a dear friend of mine joined us. We decorated the cookies , and then we all had dinner. Micah is so good when there is lots of people here. He is just more satisfied. He seems to be a "big family" boy :O But, no.. I´ll have to wait a bit longer to have another baby. Tomorrow, it´s shopping and cleaning on the list. and soon it will be Christmas day! yes yes..I´m the one responsible for the ghost with the apron ;) starting the week -preparing 12/20/2011
"it´s beginning to look a lot like Christmas" Yesterday, I did my weekly cleaning, wrapped some presents, and brought in an extra table for our company this Christmas. Today , my sister with fiance´ and their dog will come and stay over Christmas. We will spend Christmas eve over here at our place. Micah, me, Josh, sister, man and dog,a friend of the family, mom, and my little sister. So pretty much everything is done now.. except bake some cookies , and wrap some more gifts. This cookie jar in the photo, was my grandmothers. When mom was little, they lived in the states for a few years. I believe it´s from there it came. From the 60:es . I LOVE it! :) Now, I´m off to celebrate my little sister Sarah´s 25th birthday! :) done!! 12/16/2011
It´s finally done! I have published my very own photography website! I have gone back and forth, hesitated , thinking "I´m not good enough" etc etc. But Following advice from my favorite photographer Christina Greve´, I should not focus on those thoughts, but focus on what my dreams are instead. Sure, there are people that will not like it. Thinking it´s nun professional and such. But sigh..I have to ignore such matters! Thank you also all my fellow students from the workshop! You guys are awesome! I am so happy we all met! :) the link to my site is the one up top, saying stuck in the clouds-photos home? for christmas 12/15/2011
Snuggled up by the "fire" place :) Our home is cozy, decorated and ready for Christmas. But as we already know, there are so many people that really do not want Christmas at all. It may be for several different reasons, but many simply do not have anyone to celebrate with. Being all alone for Christmas. At church last sunday, there was a family that offered that anyone that didn´t have a place to go this Christmas, was welcome to their place! These people are a true blessing! We all know about all the lonely people out there, and we feel for them..But do we really do something about it? Like this family? Not so often that I know of. We will be celebrating in our home. With my mother, a friend of hers, my sisters and my brother in law. We will be home, but still not home.. We have two places to call home. Here in Sweden, and back in the states with our family there. Last year this time, we where there. And this year, yet again, we are here. Our family and friends so many miles away, is especially in our hearts this season. We MISS you! So home at your own place, our in someone else´s home..Think about what you have! Appreciate what you have! Soak in every little moment! Be in the moment! Love! This Christmas will be one of many. But make it one to remember! Shooting Bella 12/13/2011
So, This is my first ever "studio" shots. I simply used a curtain as a backdrop, and hung it in my kitchen. I had to make rearrange in there a bit, and try to move the lamp out of our way. My friend Crisse was assisting me, holding the reflector while I shot Bella. This is all natural light. I´m a newbie , but it turned out the way I had pictured it! Thank you Bella! And Crisse of course! starting the week -cleaning 12/12/2011
I was cleaning today. All "go go go" and not even thinking in between. ( I dunno what was in my coffee this morning). All of a sudden I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I realised I had forgotten my hat on after I came in from the cold, and my necklace was all weird, and I had this crazy look in my eyes. Ha Ha. We got the Christmas tree up and ..aahhh.. So cozy! Now lets see how long it will stay with a kitten in the house ;) Tomorrow, I have my first "studio" ( very very simple) photo shoot!! Can you even believe it! Yay! So lets hope it goes as well as it looks in my head! ;) | AuthorHi. My name is Dana. I'm a Swede, married to an American and together we have one little boy. Originally, this blog was created for far away friends and family--as a way to follow our life here in Sweden. But it's become the place to capture all things important in my life. So welcome . . . I hope you'll come back often! ArchivesJanuary 2012 CategoriesAll |
