I got a letter.. 01/12/2012

Yesterday, I recieved a letter in the mail. It was from a girl ( wait, are we still girls?) I went to grade school with. Nowadays we just keep in touch from time to time on facebook. You know, the usual. But here comes a real handwritten letter to me from her. She wrote about how she had found a photo a few years ago, of me, that I had given to her. In 5th grade, we had a day with some mini courses to choose from. She picked pottery/sculpturing. I picked photography. I remember this day, But I did not remember this photo.( This was waay before digital photography and I think someone else might have taken it, and I developed it.) I had given it to her back then. And she wrote so beautifully about it, about my photography, and about how it made her think about this photo. This was a letter of true encouragement. In real handwritten words. And the fact that she remembered this after so many years meant so much to me! Sometimes, a letter and a photograph from an old friend is all you ever want that very moment! 1 Comment new times 12/28/2011
2011 has come to it´s end. I don´t really like new years resolutions. Because they are rarely kept. But I guess I´ll try. I have made this list for the year, but I´ll make one new for each month too, as it seems more doable that way :) I did not include the usual "quitting bad habits" and "exercise more". Because those are the one´s that keep coming back Every year, and I thought, I´ll just try anyways, without them being on the list! ( well, I´m a bit odd ) Here is my list. What is your´s? 
cookies for santa 12/22/2011
Today was such a good day! My sister and me baked gingerbread cookies and sugar cookies, we listened to Christmas music, and all of a sudden, it started to snow!! How perfect is that.? Later on, a dear friend of mine joined us. We decorated the cookies , and then we all had dinner. Micah is so good when there is lots of people here. He is just more satisfied. He seems to be a "big family" boy :O But, no.. I´ll have to wait a bit longer to have another baby. Tomorrow, it´s shopping and cleaning on the list. and soon it will be Christmas day!

 I was cleaning today. All "go go go" and not even thinking in between. ( I dunno what was in my coffee this morning). All of a sudden I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror. I realised I had forgotten my hat on after I came in from the cold, and my necklace was all weird, and I had this crazy look in my eyes. Ha Ha. We got the Christmas tree up and ..aahhh.. So cozy! Now lets see how long it will stay with a kitten in the house ;) Tomorrow, I have my first "studio" ( very very simple) photo shoot!! Can you even believe it! Yay! So lets hope it goes as well as it looks in my head! ;) oy! 12/06/2011
 I can not emphasize enough how much the workshop has meant to me! Wow! I never knew the endless possibilities there are to control your photos! To actually sometimes get the photo you had imagined in your head! This one is a self portrait , because I had no model. It was difficult. Lack of space and light , and the fact that I almost forgot to go pick up Micah from preschool! Oy! There are so many things that I would have wanted in this photo, but it was homework, and that is what is was ment to be used as. Just thought I would share something from my ongoing workshop journey. (ok already, I´ll stop talking about it in every post) ;) back 12/04/2011
 Phew!! New starts appearently meant new pauses in blogging ... But here I am again. December is here, with very odd weather. Last year we where practically covered in snow by this time. But now..Not so much. I found a rose with buds today. Forecast says snow this week! Oh, I hope that for ones they are right ! Micah prayed for snow the other day. ( well..I kind of started it ). I´m on week 4 in my workshop hosted by Christina at Divas and Dreams , and sadly, sadly, next week is the last . I have learned so much! I just love love love it! I feel strengthened in my photography skills, and a tiny bit more confident. Micah turned three in November, And he is such a big boy now! wow! . I am not allowed to "click" on him nowadays , So the only new photo I have, has to be saved for later, as it is a surprise for someone special ;) This is his self portrait though :)  we also got a little kitty cat! His name is Sven :)  And that is all for now! See you soon. I promise ;) |
