summer to me 07/15/2011
I haven´t blogged in over a week :( I hope you have missed me just a little. We have had the worst case of the terrible two´s syndrome ever here..EVER! I did not, repeat, not know what I was talking about before, when I thought it was the worst before this. I had my friend Li, with her one year old, here over the weekend. Josh was off to see a friend in another town, and we thought, well, that two kids would be good and that we would have plenty of girl time together. eehmm. yeah, Not so much. Micah was horribly testy all weekend. part was probably jealousy over the other boy here, ( but he hangs out with many kids around our house , so I don´t know..) I don´t need to get in to exactly what all that happened was, but it was not at all any fun times! I guess we are in for some good times ahead...(comes with the package, ey?) This is why we try to spend as much time as possible outdoors! I took some pictures out on the playground we are spending most of our days. Seeing these kids, makes me think of my own childhood. When mess, sand, wet clothes and dirty faces didn´t matter at all. The only thing that was on our minds was playing, and pretend that we where cooking with sand, having our own little "worlds" in the bushes, and escaping from our parents. ( that last one is a popular one these days). So here is our summer. And a reminder of what summer used to be for me :) 5 Comments the little girl with the big eyes 07/06/2011
I wasn´t going to share this photo actually. For no good reason thou, so I´ll share it anyways, not having to say much about it, except that this is my cousins daughter. Her name is Lova. Micah was taking a bath and Lova watched. And stole bubbles. Is she the cutest ever or what!? I think she would be a perfect girlfriend for Micah in the future ;)..(waaaaaay future) shooting dogs 07/02/2011
I went out with my friends again to snap some photos of their dogs. I must say, that is good practice for my photography! They move with the speed of light. (well, not really, but close..haha) so, I really got some good practice here . this last one has to be my favorite . would you just look at them! Gossip and Chinook medieval fair 06/12/2011
I´m back! I have a new computer and thankfully had all pictures from the old one backed up. ( always backup your pictures!!!) And my blogging platform is being good to me again :) so I wanted to share some photos from last weekend, when we went to the medieval market down by the park and old town here in Örebro. It was so much fun! i love it how they dress like they did back then. And that everything they sell is "from" that time. candy, food, beauty products etc. And I went nuts with my camera :) This one above for example. They came in "marching" to this music that always make me want to have been there, in that time. The flutes, the drums, the bagpipe. Well, they where moving fast! and there where lots of people. And I just had to get in front of this guy that was leading them all. They moved rather quick. But so was I. I skip jumped over tent pegs, behind people, in front of people, and all over. with this big grin on my face, because I get all giddy when I get the chance to take the perfect shot that I imagined. It was´nt til after, it all reeplayed in my head, how it must have looked. LOL the problem is , when people spot you taking the pictures, is that they always pose. So i tried to be sneaky, so they just saw me right after. setting up the booth to start selling. this was such a beautiful girl! She made me smile boys 02/10/2011
I have a few pictures from last weekend that I like the best out of all the ones I took. Because they are all of how little kids are at play. And they show just how boys are just...eh..boys (with their scratches and bruises), Not that i was any different. I guess we can just call them kids :) Micah fell pretty bad into a doorpost, right on a hinge. We didn´t need to go to the hospital thankfully. Micah and Matteo was enjoying themselves with Micahs´favorite game nowadays. Playing dress-up with our gloves, scarves and hats. now, Who was in charge of this game you think ? And Simon, well, he was flying high :) I went to the (animal) fair... 02/01/2011
I Thought that song that Micahs´nana always sings on skype, would make a good title. Yes, the fair/market (hindersmässan) is where we went last friday. It´s an annual tradition since medieval times here in Örebro. We went pretty early, to beat the crowd. But after an hour or so, we where beaten by it (the crowd). Literally. It was fun non the less. To just stroll (and bump) around , looking at all the different things for sale. They had everything from socks to boar meat. But we came home with Moose salami, two balloons, and lots, lots of fresh donuts! :) It was hard I tell you , to take pictures in such a crowd. I had to get up on a bench and I had to stick out my behind (so that my rear and not my camera would take the worst of the bumps). People got irritated. But whatever huh!? :) It was all sorts of cozy. And we had a good time! the weekend 01/27/2011
Yeah, so like I said, we had my sister and her fiance´here last weekend. (and now, it is the weekend again pretty soon I just realized!!) We just hung out, which is quite enough for me really. Again, they brought with them lots of meat, all kinds, that Lars cooked for us. ( Lars´family likes to go hunting, so there is always lots of meat in their freezer. ) We had moose, boar, and something else...Lars wasn´t quite sure...but it was tasty..lol! And here are two photos I just wanted to share, because, the first one of Micah is so cute (nooo! really?). He played dress-out with all of our gloves, hats and mittens. He did this all by himself. And the second one, I just have to show my awesome hat I found at the mall in Boise. (I cannot for my life remember the name of the store, but it was neat). the funny thing about this photo of myself, is that I was being to lazy to set up a tripod, and so I thought I was smart to bring the camera in front of the mirror (watching the live-view in the mirror while aiming). I do not know why I even ended uo taking this photo this way...as I must have had a brain fart and forgotten that I have no live-view on my camera!!! ( I have had this camera for a year ) rainy, cold days 10/27/2010
yes yes I know it was sunday 3 days ago, and I didn´t post any pictures or wrote any. But, really, I post pictures in every blogpost I have, so I´ll just not have sunday evening pictures anymore. But I can tell you about my weekend anyways. Really really boring and depressing!! ( except for when Marcus, Frida an Lova visited- that is always fun ) It was rainy with grey grey skies! We tried to go outside for a bit though ( originally to catch some beautiful fall colors with our cameras) , So that is what theese pics are from. And Yes! Yes , I have been kicking Josh into starting to take pictures again! It used to be His great hobby, and he has encouraged me so much to do this because I Love it! And I think we´ll make a great team! ( we always do ! Mostly ;) ) So that´s about it! Nothing much under the sun here right now. Because, there are no sun. I shouldn´t complain though. Life is a blessing even on rainy days. last weekend in pics 10/19/2010
Here are some more pictures from our weekend with Jonna, Lars and Aisha! Enjoy :) little family I almost stepped on her Mine :) also Mine :) down the hill our neighbourhood Måns & Klara 08/25/2010
I was asked by a friend to come visit on saturday and take some pictures of her awesome little children. I was nervous, but.."it can´t be too hard" I thought...hahaha! ( I just know all you experienced photographers out there are laughing right now.)- They where so so easy going and easy enough to take a few pictures of. -by themselves. But together ( the way we wanted them) was not so easy. See, Her oldest is around Micahs age. And reminds me very much about Micah in the way he is! ( meaning very active). And also very very lovy with his little sister. So he either got away, or was simply hanging around her neck or being on her face! hahaha They where SO cute!! I managed to get a few ones that I think really catched their personalities. Especially Måns! What a great kid! AND, it was nice to finally get together!! Thank you Sara for wanting me to practice on your kids! I´ll be back! ;) | MeHi, I'm Dana. I'm a Swede, married to an American, and mother of one little boy. I have just entered my 3rd decade and I'm just beginning to find out who I am. It's an ongoing process, really. To help, I have my Lord Jesus by my side. I think He must have a lot of patience.
