I Hope everyone had a great Christmas We had, for sure!. We had good, good food. Micah was (mostly) happy. And we all got spoiled rotten with gifts! Christmas Eve, we loaded up the car with food and goodies and went over to Grama Great for food, fun and some present opening. After that we headed home to open the rest of our gifts ( after Micah had gone to bed ). Christmas day was all about great food, family and more presents! And while I took a nap, the rest of the "gang" went to the park for a walk. Food, family and a nap...what more can you ask for on a Christmas Day ;) I Love my nutty family! 2 Comments It is the night before Christmas Eve, and I´m sitting in bed, trying to type ever so quietly to not wake the boy up. Just checking in here to share some pictures. Today was such a nice day! Although we have had fun going places and seeing people, just being around the house together today, doing nothing but this and that to prepare for christmas, was really relaxing. And it made me have time to feel that it actually is Christmas again! We walked in the park, we found an Elmo for Micah´s stocking, and we had coffee! Ahhh, the to-go-Mochas we have together are just a delight! And so, like I said, it is Christmas again, and I would like to remind every single one of my friends and my family how much you all mean to me! I Love you all So much!!! And please, let us remember why we get to celebrate Christmas in the first place! Because of CHRIST! Let us be thankful for everything He blesses us with. This Christmas and throughout the year! ( these are not just ment to be pretty words! Lets try to remember it even when we don´t feel that happy). I better go blow out that candle sittin on the dresser, and then go to bed! So it´s time to say Good Night and : This past week ,we have been keeping busy. We had a dinnerparty at Josh´s aunts house. It was good food and wine, lots of chatting and much laughter! I met a few familymembers that I hadn´t yet had the chance to ever meet before. It was a great time! Micah loved it too, and he spent that whole evening playing with his grampa. On our way home, we stopped to look at some amazing Christmaslights that we found on the way . We also went to the farmers market down town on saturday. Very cozy with the streets filled with different kinds of foods and crafts! It seems like everyone we meet or visit has their arms opened for us, new friends and old. Everyone is so nice and welcoming! Everyone is making sure we feel at home, and that we get the most out of our stay! That just makes me smile! Thank You! :) ok. Here I am again. a bit later than I planned, but here is my update on things. We arrived in Boise a week ago in the evening. Remember how nervous I was about traveling that many hours with a toddler ? Well, I should´nt have been. Micah was excellent! The boy that never sits still actually did. This time for over 20 hours! He loved going on the airplane. He loved taking off and landing. And in between he just played a bit, ate, slept, and watched mini cartoons on the built-in TV in the seat! Thank God for technology sometimes ;) Of course, there was a few meltdowns, but that´s just comes with the deal hey?!. And they where not bad. In fact, Josh and I said to each other that this time, flying over here felt like the shortest one we ever had. Arriving, Mom/Nana, auntie Amos, "bampa" (grampa), and Cynthia met us in the arriving area. It was just like it had been yesterday we met last. Thanks to skype, Micah knows his Nana and auntie really well, and he didn´t seem to think it was any different to see them outside of the "box"/computer! He wondered off with Amy to check things out while we where trying to figure out where our one suitcases could be. We got our ones with our clothes, but the one filled with all the Christmas gifts was gone! So we just had to wait and see if we would get it eventually, or if maybe it was stolen, and we would never see it again...I was very very sad about this! But. Christmas miracle number one had already happened. Our safe trip! Something to really be thankful for! This past week, we have been up to alot! Seeing family and friends, going to the zoo, going to Mom and Amy´s wonderful church and meeting some of my blog readers there ( I really loved seeing you guys!!) and most important of all, just having the everyday life going on together. Having meals together, laughing, and playing. Monday afternoon Josh and I left Micah with Nana and auntie to go have a mini-honeymoon at the Anniversary Inn. ( we never really had one, although we have been married for 8 years). I knew we where going there, but the theme of the room was a surprise. ( their rooms are all different themes and there is not one alike). I opened the door and it was the Hollywood Suite!! It was just plain awesome! Josh had extra ordered rose petals spread on the floor, and there was a soda machine with as many refills as you liked ! A big screen TV, a fabulous bed, and a hot tub big enough for both of us! We spent the afternoon in the tub, reading our magazines and drinking Dr Pepper! What a wonderful day and night that was! Thank you my sweet Josh for that! And thank you mom and Amy for watching Micah! Oh, and Christmas miracle number 2...Our suitcase was left at the doorstep late tuesday evening! To end this post, I would like to thank everyone that has been and still are with us in praying for a safe trip, the finding of the lost suitcase, and our stay here! See you again soon! We are getting there! We are packing up, getting ready to leave early wednesday morning. To be more precise ,4 am in the morning. The flight doesn´t leave til 9 am but with the winter roads and having to be at the check-in as early as possible, we just thought we had better be safe! Our faithful friend Jerry will drive us to the airport! ( I´m very thankful)!!! We´ll be having our first stop in New York, the second one in Denver and from there we´ll go to Boise! So on wednesday evening (Boise time. about 5 am thursday morning for you Swedes) we will be hugging our mom/nana/mom-in-law and sister/auntie/sis-in-law! What a Christmas miracle! I´ll be updating this blog and try to upload pictures too. Please pray for our trip ( Micah is still having a bad cough, and we are not all well yet, but not misarable either) and our staying there! Just how blessed are we...that He would again provide for us to see our other half of the family, when we are so far apart, and when we so need it! I am just so so thankful! So very thankful! (Thank you Jesus)!! see you from the States next time:) It is for sure December. It is icy cold. Icecream headache cold. Snot freezing cold. Very very cold. (I´m cold! ok!) But it has been Oh so beautiful these past days! The sun is shining, making the snow glitter and if you only whear enough clothes it is very nice out! I have been preepacking all the gifts we are bringing to the states. Ehh..I´m glad I did. They fill an entire suitcase! Good thing Micah is allowed a fullsized suitcase too! While "packing" this afternoon, me and Jonna listened to Susan Boyle -The Gift, (seriously! That Voice!!) and all of a sudden, there it was...The christmas spirit! So Happy 1:st of december! Happy countdown til Christmas Day! And Happy countdown for us, having only 6 more days til we leave! :) | MeHi, I'm Dana. I'm a Swede, married to an American, and mother of one little boy. I have just entered my 3rd decade and I'm just beginning to find out who I am. It's an ongoing process, really. To help, I have my Lord Jesus by my side. I think He must have a lot of patience.
